That is so definitely true. We can write the stories of our lives, but I cannot find words adequate to explain what the experiences felt like at the time, how very difficult it was. Peace comes with the perspective of time and distance I find.
I always say it's like looking at the cover shot of a photo album, and not looking at all the pictures inside before you make a conclusion or judgement. You have to look at the whole life.
