All things...

Anyone who knows me well knows I say that "all things happen for a reason."

I had been looking to donate a bunch of things and I always prefer to donate when there are homeless shelters or women and children centers involved, Having just moved to a new area I really had no idea where to go.  I used Google to  look up Goodwill centers and/or Salvation Army drop boxes and I found nothing.

Lo and behold on the way home yesterday afternoon I found myself driving right next to a truck with this on the side:

Donate to the Coalition Thrift Store!

Supporting the Coalition for Family Harmony and empowering survivors of domestic and sexual assault since 1976.

And then there was a phone number. Once I got in touch with them I went home and filled an EVEN BIGGER box. I mean let's face it. I just got a job that allows jeans and sneakers for work - who needs 25 skirts and 20 pair of high heels? I decided that if there was anything hanging in my closet that I haven't worn in over a year it goes in the box. Then I hit the drawers! I even found an extra blanket or two!

Can you say Karma?

  1. Yeah for great moments like this! You just know there is someone out there who exactly needed skirts and shoes!
I gave my maternity and baby stuff to our local women's shelter too. So much better than just tossing in the garbage. They can always use stuff.

    1. Yay! I was so glad that I found this organization and I might start volunteering with them! I guess deep down inside I am just a softy!

  2. This is the way it should go, the way it is meant to go. Bless your heart and each person you help(ed). Yes, I believe in karma. You did a wonderful thing, and there are wonderful things ahead for you.

    1. Thank you... I just know how it feels to be in that position!
I am not really looking for something in return, it just feels good to do it!

  3. This is one of those amazing experiences where you end up at just the right place at the right time... you needed a good place for your things and they so need someone like you! Blessings all around!
