Are you part of the rat race?

I was driving to work (my new job) this morning at 6:45 AM and I realized that for the first time in a very long time I don't feel like part of the rat race. Oh, we could fool ourselves into thinking that getting up, going to work, going home, making dinner, playing with dog and/or kids and going to be is not the rat race, but that would be inane.  The difference is that right now it doesn't FEEL like that. Perhaps it is the newness of the job, the newness of the home, the love of life or simply I am so old I know I'm not going to win any races.

Seriously, I am so happy with my choices right now that everything just feels right...

Except, I can't remember how to change my header on this blog to include a picture, and I'm not really sure about the sidebar stuff....but who looks at that anyway?

Have a great week!

  1. I got out of the rat race when I retired. One of our morning pleasures is to watch the traffic reports and bless ourselves that we aren't in it.

  2. I agree with "retired not tired" -- staying at home and no commute? The best!! the morning is a bit of a rush to get all 3 off to school, but then I can sit down with hot coffee and plan my day. Rarely is that a rushed feeling.
for your header - go into Layout on your blog dashboard and there should be a spot right there to upload a custom header in addition to your blog title, or instead of it. That is also where you can add Gadgets/Widgets to your Sidebar. Any questions - shoot me an email :)

  4. Ok... let's try that again without typos... This has to be the happiest post I have read in a long, long time Brenda! It is just so very wonderful when the pieces of life fall into place and you find yourself in a situation better than you ever believed possible. You give me hope that a "just right" job might yet be in my future! Yay for you and being brave enough to take the leap of faith that brought you to this new place and new chapter of your life! Enjoy!!

    1. Thanks Josie! - There were a few very scary moments there.... but sometimes you have to go with the heart, not the head (or the bank account!)
