Who's to blame

Joining the gang for Six Sentence Stories where this week's prompt is Fault

A vase flew through the air smashing into small bits of fine china as James yelled, "Everything that has happened here is your fault!" Lisa's tear streamed face just nodded in agreement as her husband of less than two years flew into yet another rage.

Just like the pieces of fine china strewn across the floor, her heart shattered. Gathering every ounce of strength she could muster she walked towards the front door and looked back at her husband saying, "You are so right. It's my fault that I married you. It's over!"

  1. Yay for Lisa! It took me a lot longer to walk out, and even longer to figure out that I was choosing abusive men for partners. This time I finally got it right! Lisa most definitely saved herself a lifetime of sadness and pain but choosing to end it now, we know it was going to escalate. Very good story, Brenda, especially about heart shattering, that broken feeling is very real.

    1. I've made those same mistakes. Bravo for Lisa, getting it right before too much time has passed. She'll still have some cleaning up to do, and not just the vase.
