Tread Mill?

 photo image13_zps64a48e1e.png

Time to Ponder yet again.  You know the drill... I post a prompt that has multiple meanings and we get see what you write! Add you post to the linky and wait for the magic!!

(If you want to send me words that you would like us all to ponder - please feel free to do so!)

Today's word is TREAD (you can always grab the prompt early by visiting the Pondering Page

I sat down to write this post and couldn't for the life of me remember why I picked this word!

I am hoping some of you come up with better meanings than I have come up with

Tread is what the pattern on a tire is called, and the pattern on the bottom of a shoe, so why is it called a treadmill?

The Gadsden flag - yes that is really what it's called - was a symbol of freedom during the American Revolution. Wonder what would happen if all these factions that are claiming independence used the same flag?

Of course there is the saying "Tread Lightly" which means to go softly and not disturb

and then there is Treading water - which has nothing to do with a sole of shoe or rubber...

So what do you think?

Write a post and link up.

Happy Pondering

  1. It is my first time to see "The Gadsden flag ." They never told me about it in World History classes. :-) The flag is interesting.

    1. It is not a very well known flag outside of the US - apparently it was designed as sort of a joke

  4. I forgot all about tire treads, mine are in need of replacing! :-) I wrote a poem about treading lightly today, so I smiled when I saw it as one of the meanings you listed. I hope you like it! Thank you for the chance to ponder together! :-)

  7. first I tread all over the grocery store because the cupboards were bare. Then, I had to tread all over nature to help with a school project. hence.. I didn't tread anywhere near my blog until now.
I had planned on doing a post this morning, but then hubby surprised me with an offer to go to breakfast. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. because, bacon. :)
