TST - Special Edition

My very good friend Josie at Josie2shoes.com throws a writing party every Tuesday at two-shoes-tuesday

She is celebrating her 99th and 100th editions with a giveaway.  Loving her as much as I do I cannot think of a better way to honor her than to participate.

The words I have chosen is SHOES and I will be continuing my fictional account of the Patterson family  For early entries please go to the Fiction Tab

Nicole looked down at her shoes as she stepped out of the car. All four Pattersons had arrived at their destination to celebrate Bruce's 18th birthday. That date just also happened to be their twenty first wedding anniversary and Adriana's 16th birthday. They had booked the largest room at the Italian restaurant downtown: Vittorio's. The decor was reminiscent of old Italian architecture with grapevines, leaves and actual grapes hanging through the archways.  Each table had a bottle of Chanti and a vase filled with fresh flowers. Vittorio's was best know for their extraordinary menu. The chefs came from Italy and the dishes were divine.

The party consisted of 20 of Bruce's closest friends, Nicole's parents and Adriana's boyfriend.

to be continued.....

  4. You really are a tease! You write a few words, draw us in and leave us stranded for another week. Let's hope they have a great time.

  5. As a mom, I wondered about the thoughts going thru Nicole's mind as arrived at the party and glanced down at her shoes. Was she thinking about her choice of attire and if she looked just right, or was it just a reflex action of many years, and instead her mind and heart were filled with thoughts of her children who had grown up so very fast, and had come so far from the little ones she still loved and in some ways missed. She was surely very proud of them, but still longing for the babies now all grown. I am hoping this party does indeed turn out to be a lovely and warm even, no glitches in the works, life often has a tendency to blindside us like that! Thank you for the lovely intro, I am always amazed and delighted that people take the time to participate in Two Shoes Tuesday, for me it's a fun way to come together and see what we can create!

  6. Funny, I wrote a "to be continued" as well. I guess the 99th and 100th had us both thinking along those lines. I'm always interested in reading about Nicole and Bruce. Looking forward to the "party".

  7. I wonder about the shoes...Why did she look at them? What kind are they? Are they new, comfortable, expensive? Or is she nervous about something? I will see you next Tuesday.
