Tuesday's Spot

Joining Josie2Shoes for Two shoes Tuesday
Two Shoes Tuesdsay
Today’s prompt is Spot or Save

She was pregnant with her second child. The baby had just turned two last week and she was scared. Scared that she wouldn’t love another the way she loved the first. She was scared that the first child would not love the second child.

These were new feelings for her. When she was pregnant the first time she didn’t have these fears. Then she wondered how she would take care of a baby; would she know what to do. What if something went wrong? But now she knew that her maternal instincts had kicked in and that taking care of her baby was natural.
What this poor young mother did not understand is that a child holds a special spot in your heart and there is endless room for those spots. They are not saved for anyone else, just your children and grandchildren.

Three years later when she was pregnant again these fears did not reappear.

  1. so so true. there's always enough room in a mother's heart!
I was surprised when people asked me that question when I was carrying #2... it seemed obvious to me that of course you would love big again.
Sleep. That's what I wanted to know. When would sleep return? LOL

  2. I wholeheartedly agree! Had it been up to me alone, I would have had a houseful - and loved them all the same.

"... a child holds a special spot in your heart and there is endless room for those spots." --I like this part the best.

  4. I just love this story Brenda, it is so very true of mothers and their children. Each one is loved totally, and each one is different, yet there is always an endless supply of that love for more. Having two, or three, or a dozen doesn't divide a mother's heart, it just makes it grow larger and larger! Look how yours is making room for those precious grandbabies now! A wonderful story for Two Shoes Tuesday that left me smiling. :-)
