The journey continues

This post is linked up to Two Shoes Tuesday where the prompts this week are cover or show

Two Shoes Tuesdsay

continued from last week (if you missed it go here)

Bruce had found cover in a tiny crawl space under the helm. His sister Adriana had crawled way up under the bow of the boat thinking it was a perfect cover to ride out the storm. Their parents had stayed together in the cabin wrapped around each other for comfort.

No one knew how long that storm lasted, it felt like days. When the seas had calmed all that was left to show for the storm were the downed mast, the missing riggings and gaggles of dead birds on the deck. Bruce was the first to surface and he called down into the cabin for his parents. Hearing nothing he ventured down the short ladder to investigate.  The interior of the cabin was in much worse shape than the deck of the boat. Broken dishes and glasses, pot and pans in a state of disarray and clothing strewn evereywhere. He searched for his parents and found nothing. That did not make any sense. Hadn't they taken cover down there? Where could they be?

to be continued.....

  1. So last week I believe I wrote something like "C'MON!" So this week I will be more sane and just hope that next weeks prompt allows you to continue this story!!!!

    1. Zoe. I sure I will be able
To continue the story and who knows there might even be an additional post in the middle

  2. This is an intriguing story, and I am looking forward to reading the next part.

  3. I'm loving this story so far, Brenda, and eager to hear what happens next! All kinds of possibilities cross my mind, and I feel like the child whose mother shut off the light when she was mid-chapter in a bedtime book! :-)

  4. and what about the sister??!!! was there water in the cabin of the boat??
yeah... not invested at all in this high seas tale! LOL

  5. Oh you sold us short this week with just a few sentences. Now I have to wait another 7 days. Grrr!

  6. What a wonderful beginning. Would love to read more!
