Blankets of words

 photo image13_zps64a48e1e.png

Time to Ponder yet again.  You know the drill... I post a prompt that has multiple meanings and we get see what you write! Add you post to the linky and wait for the magic!!

(If you want to send me words that you would like us all to ponder - please feel free to do so!)

Today's word is BLANKET  (you can always grab the prompt early by visiting the Pondering Page

This word popped into my mind on a foggy day when I realized there was a blanket of fog outside. Interesting how that word is used for that. The most typical use of the word blanket is something you find on a bed, but then when I put the two different meanings together I figured out that maybe a blanket is just a cover.

I have my favorite blankets and my children have theirs as well. sometimes they are really quilts, not blankets at all.

And then there are the blankets you put over a horse - I wouldn't want to sleep under one of those!

How about you? what does the word blanket mean to you?

Write a post and link on up!

Happy Pondering.

  4. To me, blankets equate with comfort, even on the hottest summer nights I must have a lightweight one to wrap up in. I too have my favorite crocheted afghans and quilts that were made for me. I love it when the ground is blanketed in thick fog as I drive to work in the morning, it gives a mysterious other-world feel to everything. I even enjoy waking up to a beautiful blanket of snow, as long as it is only going to last a day or two, and not for months and months! My post today is about a wonderful blanket project I discovered. :-)

    1. I also need to be blanketed - even if it is just a sheet on a hot night

  5. To have blanket means to be covered in love for me. My late grandma used to make quilts and gave them as wedding gifts often. Nothing says love like handmade! But I also think of a blanket of fog too --- so "cover" is a great way to describe various meanings of the word.
